We’re currently partnering with Comvita to supercharge growth in the USA market and tackle a few distinct challenges: how to educate consumers on the value of Manuka Honey and how Comvita can be the incredible, unique brand that brings it to them.

Ārepa

We’re currently partnering with Ārepa to understand how consumers translate the value of Ārepa’s distinct nootropic products and the new category of brain health. Weta Collectibles

Weta Collectibles is connected to the creative powerhouse of Weta Workshop, yet weren’t connecting to consumers as well as they knew they could. We partnered them to do a deep dive into the nature of fandoms, and unlock the mysteries of how people fall in love with the fantasy worlds Weta bring to life. With this knowledge Weta Collectibles bridged the gap to their adoring fans and generated significant revenue growth. A real win-win!

Sven’s Island

Sven’s Island is a small skincare business from Great Barrier Island. Great Barrier Island’s unique geological soil grows extremely potent plant oils that Sven’s uses to make powerful natural skincare. We partnered with Sven's Island to understand Western and South East Asian skincare consumers to know how to tell their brand’s story with guaranteed emotional resonance. We also redesigned the packaging to better reflect the premium value of the products.

MSD Animal Health

This is an unusual one. Hardwired, previously Eleven, had partnered with MSD Animal Health for well over 15 years, primarily on advertising (which was what our company did over a decade ago). However, our work always focussed on the emotional state of MSD Animal Health’s customers, New Zealand farmers - who in their minds are the least emotional group of people on the planet. Not so! We designed creative strategies to reach farmer emotions, reminding them why they’ve trusted MSD’s brand and products for over 80 years. We illustrated 1950’s postcard style nostalgic images to show this legacy and love for the landscape.

Golden Bay Fruit - Stormy Fruit

No better example of what can happen when you understand what your consumers truly value and the human problems they have. The story actually starts with tragedy - a Boxing Day hailstorm damaged 75% of Golden Bay Fruit’s apple harvest. They knew they could offset some loss by selling partially impacted fruit as ‘Class B.’ Previous insight work into Asian consumers led us to an incredible solution - creating a brand that celebrated the hail impacted ‘imperfect’ fruit. Why? Because Asian consumers valued food safety and authenticity above all else, and the hailsone impacts were watermarked proof of the fruit’s origin: one storm, one day, one place. With Stormy Fruit, GBF recouped millions from the loss.

Immigrant’s Son

Our fondest case study proving the power of human connection is timeless. A while back, Hardwired’s founder helped a friend start a coffee business in Wellington - a competitive and congested coffee market to say the least!
